For the fifth straight year Mizner Park will play host to incredible bands during The Sunshine Music Festival in Boca Raton. The festival recently announced the lineup for the next edition of the festival to be held Sunday, January 15, 2017, at Boca Raton’s Mizner Park Amphitheater.
Headlining will be Sunshine Music Festival veterans Tedeschi Trucks Band, the Jacksonville blues rock band made up of husband-and-wife team Susan Tedeschi and guitar virtuoso Derek Trucks.
Also rocking Mizner Park will be University of Miami graduate Bruce Hornsby and Joe Russo will bring his Almost Dead Experience, which plays cover versions of the granddaddy of jam bands, the Grateful Dead. Legendary R&B singer Mavis Staples, who rose to fame in the ’60s with the Staple Singers on hits like “I’ll Take You There,” will also be performing.
Guitarist of ’60s English super group Traffic, Dave Mason, who spent the last five decades exploring the blues with his guitar, will play a set. Other bands announced were bluegrass fiddlers Railroad Earth, The Greyhounds, and Southern rock band North Mississippi All-Stars. For more on the artists and ticket information click here.
